Everything Went Wrong on This 900‑Mile Appalachian Ride

I wasn't ready for 900 miles of the Appalachian Backcountry. Riding the Smoky Mountain 500 and Georgia Traverse in a combined, wet and rugged, and absolutely crazy route might have been a little to much of an adventure. From deep creek crossings in Georgia to the rocky mountain trails of North Carolina, this trip was a test of endurance and gear. We faced technical mountain climbs, slippery clay bike drops, and a terrifying moment where a bike pinned my leg in a ditch. This is a raw look at what happens when "adventure" becomes a survival challenge.
