The BBX is Tamiya's latest rear-wheel drive buggy, a powerful model inspired by Stateside full-size single seater racing buggies. It is based upon the realistic BB-01 chassis, which features a lower deck with flat underside, mounted upon which is a roll cage, frame and suspension; the battery pack is in a longitudinal position, and the motor is placed at the very rear, giving the rear traction a helping hand. The sealed gearbox contains a ball differential, while four aluminum cylinder oil dampers ensure exemplary performance. Our designers selected front double wishbone (A arms, 25-degree caster) and rear trailing arm (adjustable) setups for the suspension, and the stylish body is a polycarbonate six-piece design. アメリカで人気を集めるトラディショナルなシングルシーター・レーシングバギーをコンセプトに、現代の高い走行性能を持たせた後輪駆動のRCバギーがBBXです。裏面をフラットに仕上げたロワデッキにロールケージを組み合わせたフレームやサスペンション構成など、シャーシも実車感を追求。走行用バッテリーを縦置きし、モーターを車体後端に搭載して駆動輪に十分荷重がかかる構造。密閉式ギヤボックスにはボールデフを内蔵しました。足まわりは高性能・高品質なアルミシリンダー製エアレーションオイルダンパーを4本装備。フロントがアタックアングル25度の上下Aアームによるダブルウィッシュボーン、リヤはアライメント調整が可能なトレーリングアームの構成です。また、実車感あふれるシャープなフォルムが特徴のポリカーボネート製ボディは6分割構成としました。
