How big is the United States... really? In this reaction, my childhood best friend Ella joins me as we watch a video exploring some of the most surprising facts about American geography. We knew the U.S. was large, but we had no idea just how enormous it actually is until we started comparing it with Europe. Along the way, our minds were completely blown by Alaska, Texas, the Great Lakes, and the incredible variety of landscapes found across one single country. The video takes us through fascinating geography facts that surprise many Europeans, from Alaska's unbelievable size to the fact that Texas is larger than several European countries combined. We also learn how the United States contains deserts, tropical beaches, snowy mountain ranges, dense forests, and vast plains all within the same nation. Seeing the Great Lakes for the first time was especially shocking because they look more like oceans than lakes. As two Finnish girls, we couldn't stop comparing these places with Finland and the rest of Europe. Of course, the geography wasn't the only thing that surprised us. Somewhere along the way we accidentally turned the video into a discussion about the United Kingdom, Great Britain, England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland... and let's just say one of us realized we'd misunderstood how it all worked for years!
