Ultramarsch Dresden 100km, 1852 Höhenmeter am 18.07.2026 Langstreckenwandern Extremmärsche

The Ultramarsch Dresden 100km and 60km races, starting in Dresden Pillnitz right on the Elbe River, had a fantastic starting location. It began at 8:00 AM and the starting area was quite crowded. Markus was also on time :) My goal today? To set a new time record. Last year's record of 17 hours and 50 minutes was still on my list, and I was eager to beat it :) Finally, we were off! After conquering some impressive ascents and descents, we ran along the beautiful Elbe for quite a while until we reached the first aid station: the famous cake aid station. From aid station 1 onwards, the real elevation gain began, and we headed briskly and cheerfully towards the Schwedenlöcher (Swedish Holes), visiting and passing through the Wolfsschlucht (Wolf's Gorge). The weather was mostly a mix of sun and clouds, with a pleasant 25°C and a light breeze. The ultra route through the hilly landscape is truly impressive – and then the city of Dresden was still waiting for us. Finally, we were off! The elevation gain was quite a strain. Later, around kilometer 65, however, that ended and the terrain flattened out, and the calculations slowly began again: could I break the new record? Many familiar hikers were also there. Thanks for the mostly short but interesting conversations.
