USS Roanoke - Triple Turret Ironclad of the Civil War
USS Roanoke was built as a steam frigate of the Merrimack-class during the 1850s. She served the US Navy in the early part of the Civil War in her original configuration. After the Battle of Hampton Roads she was taken to New York and converted to a triple turret ironclad. As such, she was the first ship of the US Navy with three turrets. https://www.santee1821.net/
