Updates on Understanding of Citrin Deficiency and Treatments (2026) by Dr. Julien Baruteau

On June 18th 2026, the Citrin Foundation organised and hosted a global online patient gathering for those affected by citrin deficiency. We had over 50 participants join us at the gathering. We welcomed Dr. Julien Baruteau from Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK to talk about the updates on understanding of citrin deficiency and the treatments for the condition. ************************************************************************ Citrin Foundation Citrin Foundation is a research-driven, not-for-profit organization set up to tackle citrin deficiency. Our goal is to ultimately find effective treatments and a cure for the condition. We fund research projects to better understand the condition and develop new therapies. We also provide support to citrin deficiency patients and their families globally. The Foundation plans to invest USD30m in the next decade to achieve our aims.
