He offers 250 000$ to buy Jensen's house without even considering the illnesses they suffered because of the company. He even denies the responsibility they have in this. While Ed is trying to negotiate, he realizes the man he has in front of him is not here to negotiate, just to get the case closed, and he is just an insignificant employee in the firm. So Ed gets really angry and ends the discussion saying he’s gonna talk about this to the Jensens, but obviously he just wants to go to court. The PG&E employee tries to scare him with the turnover of 28 billion dollars of his company. As a result, he just makes Ed laugh really loud. She gets into a car accident, in which she is not in fault, but her lawyer Ed Masry (Albert Finney fom Tom Jones, Annie and Murder on the Orient Express) still loses the case because of her attitude in front of the court. She manages somehow to convince him to give her a job as a legal assistant in his law firm. Erin uncovers some medical records placed in real estate files. She starts to investigate with Ed’s approval, and she discovers that a huge firm is hiding the contamination of the water to the consumers. A local community, Hinkley, is particularly affected, the contaminated water is causing devastating illnesses among its residents.
