She gets into a car accident, in which she is not in fault, but her lawyer Ed Masry (Albert Finney fom Tom Jones, Annie and Murder on the Orient Express) still loses the case because of her attitude in front of the court. She manages somehow to convince him to give her a job as a legal assistant in his law firm. Erin uncovers some medical records placed in real estate files. She starts to investigate with Ed’s approval, and she discovers that a huge firm is hiding the contamination of the water to the consumers. A local community, Hinkley, is particularly affected, the contaminated water is causing devastating illnesses among its residents.
