EPECUÉN, la ATLANTIDA argentina 🌅
Carhué, the gateway to a unique and nostalgic place: the ruins of Epecuén. A tourist town founded in 1921 that once welcomed 25,000 visitors each summer. Hotels, shops, and resorts revolved around its famous saltwater lagoon. 🏖️ In 1985, nature reclaimed its space. Rising waters breached the embankment, and in just 15 days, the town was submerged. By 1993, the village was 7 meters underwater. 🌊 More than three decades have passed, the water has relinquished its whims and receded, freeing Epecuén, which has reemerged like an amphibious ghost. Salt-damaged trees and ruined buildings in a dominant bleached hue paint the traces of what was once a thriving summer resort. 🏚 Artists and photographers from all corners of the world have found unique inspiration in the town's ruins. 📸 The last guardian of Epecuén left a legacy of love, just as Salamone himself left his mark on the town. Today, his spirit and his story live on in every corner of this landscape, as devastating as it is fascinating. 👴🏼 Epecuén, the Argentine Atlantis. #buenosairesda #buenosaires #epecuen #ruinasdeepecuen #carhue #adolfoalsina #argentina
