MATHEU, más de un siglo de historia a la vera del tren 🚂
In this new episode of Buenos Aires from the Inside, we travel to the Escobar district to explore the streets of Matheu. Accompanied by local content creator @Juaniiitos, we take a fascinating journey that takes us from the origins of these lands in 1796 to the land donation by Don Domingo Nazarre for the historic train station in 1898. We learned how the town evolved: from the first transport carts, the arrival of the post office and the first streetlights, to the paving of Route 25 that transformed the old and chaotic Camino Real (Royal Road). To top off the trip in the best way, we made a mandatory stop for lunch at the TrasCarton restaurant, where we had the honor of interviewing local residents knowledgeable about the town's history, including Etelvina Ichás, co-author of the book "Matheu: 100 Years of Institutional Life," who shared invaluable details with us.
