The Now Closed Helena Street Level Crossing - Midland

As of the morning of July 10th 2024 the “4 track” (really 3 tracks because one track had already been ripped up) level crossing on Helena street is permanently closed to traffic and removed as part of Metronet’s New Midland Station Project. A new level crossing at Cale Street opens on July 12th 2024 but is only 2 tracks. This video was recorded on March 4th 2024 and takes a look at the crossing and an interstate freight train bound for Kwinana.
