We thought this overland trip was going to be simple. A weekend in the mountains with two trucks, great company, and a reserved campsite overlooking the incredible Chivor Reservoir in Colombia. Then, just one minute before we arrived, we got a phone call that changed everything. Our reservation didn't exist. With the sun getting lower, we suddenly had nowhere to camp. What followed was an unexpected adventure through mountain trails, road closures caused by landslides, private properties, dead ends, and a ferry crossing that led us to one of the most beautiful wild camps we've ever experienced. Sometimes the best adventures begin when the original plan falls apart.
