What I'm applying is a primer because I've changed the brand of paint, and the primer guarantees perfect adhesion for painting the gaps and recesses where the roller can't reach. We'll use a brush. Okay, so we've done the work. Now we'll wait for it to dry. It's quite hot here, and it will probably be ready sooner or later. But what I'm doing is taking advantage of the time to go eat, and when I get back, we'll apply the first coat. Okay, today we're going to apply the paint, and we're going to do exactly the same thing we did with the primer. We'll open the can, mix it well, pour a little into the paint tray, and paint with the roller. When we apply the paint, it adheres in two directions. We have to paint from top to bottom and, on the same surface, to the sides. Okay, that's the only requirement. Otherwise, it's exactly the same. We'll apply two coats and finish the job. Let's see how it looks. The roller I use to apply the antifouling paint is a medium-sized microfiber roller. It works very well for this purpose, and I can also use it to apply the two coats of antifouling paint. It's important to respect the drying time between coats specified by each manufacturer; each brand has its own. The sailor cleaned the propeller with a pressure washer and got it quite clean. Anyway, what I did was give it a pre-paint coating with solvent to remove the old layers. We're going to give it a very light, very thin coat. The purpose is to remove these "cheeks" that look like crustaceans stuck to it. You can scrape this off, but it won't come off. A light dusting of sandpaper will open the pores a little so the primer adheres. We're going to apply two coats of primer and then three coats of antifouling paint, all specially formulated for propellers.
