The Fall of Original Themed Attractions
Ever since the turn of the millennium, both Disney and Universal have barely, if at all, created rides that are based on original ip and concepts, with the roots of this issue being just what you would expect. While theme park attractions based on already established brands and characters certainly have a place at theme parks and can be used as a tool to bring more guests into the parks themselves, when used too much, their flaws and shortcomings when compared to original theme park attractions become that much more apparent. Today, we explore the decline of these once prominent original concepts and focus specifically on ride design, the guest experience, and the causes of the decline itself.
