David Raksin The Film Composer Who Gave Laura A Soul © Music for the Movies Silman James Press LA
Tony Thomas's essay on David Raksin (1912 –2004) where he writes about some the composer's work including working with Charlie Chaplin and the iconic score for Laura in 1944 which brought the composer recognition and respect from fellow composers and the public a like. With some minor edits with some music and some video, I have illustrated the essay using voice actors to vocalise the essay and the voices you hear are not that of the subjects mentioned, unless stated otherwise. I have been unable to include any video from Separate Tables and Will Penny due to rights issues however this does distract from the overall video.
