I love Dream Theater; they're honestly my favorite band of all time, and they're a major inspiration for me as a composer. I was a huge fan of their latest album, Parasomnia, and the track that really got my attention was the epic closer, "The Shadow Man Incident." It still baffles me that these five musicians are still able to write and perform such incredibly complex and detailed pieces of music, while still maintaining a sense of melody and musicality that leaves you stunned. I immediately wanted to write an orchestral arrangement of this epic from the moment I first heard it, and I wanted to share my passion for the band and this song with all of you.
