This documentary examines the history of women in animation, focusing on the pioneers who contributed to the medium while working within systems that often limited their recognition and advancement. It explores the gender barriers present in early studio culture, the creative and technical innovations women introduced, and the slow progress toward leadership and directing roles. Through historical research and primary sources, the film argues that women were not simply assistants or support staff, but essential artists whose work shaped the style, storytelling, and evolution of animation.
