How to Snap Set Handspun Yarn

Here's an example of snap-setting handspun yarn, a super fast and easy technique for wet setting. It's also much gentler than thwacking. I also share a closer look at the spiral ply yarn featured in the video and why I love to spin this type of textured art yarn. In this technique, after wetting or soaking your handspun yarn, you quickly snap it between your hands by pulling two ends of the skein quickly away from each other. Instead of thwacking you don't need a hard surface to smack the yarn up against, so I like this method in the winter when it's hard to get outside. Spiral plied yarn is a two-ply yarn technique where one singles is fatter than the other. The fatter singles wraps around the thinner singles, causing a slight spiral effect. It's a fun textured art yarn that is also very easy to knit and crochet with.
