The TV License. Bye bye Fair City? Irish Unity by 2030? | Indo Politics

On this week's Indo Politics, Kevin Doyle is joined by Maeve McTaggart to talk through the big stories from Leinster House. Up first, it was another bruising day for RTÉ in government buildings as they faced the Public Accounts Committee. It was reported this week that broadcaster is seeking more money from the taxpayer, and Director General Kevin Bakhurst faced questions on the TV License, the future of Fair City, RTÉ's Montrose campus and more. Earlier in the week, a bill to ban hare coursing was overwhelmingly defeated in the Dáil. Kevin and Maeve discuss the major parties' stance on the subject and the topic of 'rural pursuits' in modern day Ireland. Also shot down this week was Sinn Féin's bill on Irish Unity despite Mary Lou McDonald taking the time to praise Simon Harris for his recent comments on the potential of an united Ireland. And finally, with the Dáil set to go into its summer break next week, who have been the good (and bad) performers in this term?
