Licht aan het einde van het leven | Ineke Visser
‘I just see light, beautiful light.’ Words of a dying woman, just before she passed away. What do the dying and their loved ones see at the deathbed? And what can those experiences teach us about life, letting go, and the fear of no longer being? In this video, Ineke Visser takes you through testimonies of light, closeness, and a peace that proves to be unexpectedly real for many. Light is a universal symbol in spiritual traditions and in deep meditation experiences, but it also recurs constantly in near-death experiences: a light that feels warm, loving, and peaceful, and to which people feel drawn. Ineke also shares stories from volunteers and loved ones who witnessed light at the deathbed, and connects this with her own research into deathbed phenomena and a personal experience dating back to her thirteenth year. These are experiences that can shift the word ‘death,’ from something to be feared to something permeated with acceptance and peace. In this video: ~ Why light holds such a central place worldwide in human experiences of the sacred ~ What people share about light in near-death experiences ~ Testimonies of light at the deathbed, seen by the dying and by loved ones ~ Ineke’s research into deathbed phenomena and her personal experiences ~ What this can teach us about life as something broader than we often assume Question for you: Have you ever experienced something at a deathbed—a light, a presence, a feeling that you could not explain but also could not ignore?
