Two other individuals, identified as WG and MSR, are fugitives. The suspects are residents of Register 45, East Mesuji. Police confiscated several pieces of evidence, including a video recording of the tapir killing, a 1.5-meter spear, a machete, tapir bones, processed tapir meat, and skin. The suspects in the killing of protected animals are being charged under Article 40a paragraph 1 letter d of Law Number 32 of 2024 concerning amendments to Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning the Conservation of Living Animals and Their Ecosystems.
