HADC 2024 DAY 1 - Suppliers Roundtable
The inaugural African Hub Agro-Dealer Development Conference (HADC) took place from June 4-7, 2024, at the Kigali Marriott Hotel in Rwanda. The event aimed to showcase best practices, facilitate peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and invite collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen the inputs sector in Africa. Today there are more and more fertilizer suppliers emerging across Africa than ever before. After the crises of COVID and the yet on-going war in Ukraine, many African countries are seeking to improve their domestic fertilizer security by investing in, or promoting investment in, new blending facilities and fertilizer plant facilities (particularly when there is a phosphate, gas or potash resource in abundance). There is rise as well in the production of organic fertilizer at commercial scales. Lastly, with more farmers using fertilizer and intensifying their fertilizer use, there is also more interest from global suppliers in the African market.
