Neuse River - Allens Creek to South River 6-9-2026

Ginger Motes, Paul Mixner and myself, George Morcom, paddled this next section of the Neuse in our effort to paddle all the way to Cedar Island. Wind was 5-10 mph with increases later in the day. We spent about 5-1/2 hours on the water paddling the 9.7 miles. We stay in touch with each other using VHF radios. Mine failed while on the water. I determined that it was only the corded mic I use. As our trip progressed, the waves increased in frequency and height due to the wind. The day started a little cloudy with mixed sun and clouds making for a more comfortable day. Most of the boats we encountered were on Allen’s Creek. Thank you for watching and stay tuned for more adventures!
