Discover Fort Nisqually at Point Defiance Park near Tacoma Washington (Pacific Northwest History)
In this adventure, we visit Fort Nisqually, a Hudson’s Bay Company fort located at Point Defiance Park, near Tacoma, Washington. Originally, Fort Nisqually was located in what is now DuPont, Washington, where it operated from the 1830s to the 1850s. Later, in the 1930s, two remaining buildings, the factor’s house and granary were moved to a replica of the fort built at Point Defiance Park. Today, Point Defiance is the current location of the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum. At the end of the video, we drive to the original location of the fort in DuPont. Join us as we explore a time when Washington State was British territory.
