Swearing-in of Lady Rose as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom

On Monday 19 April 2021, a special ceremony was held for the swearing-in of Lady Rose as a new Justice of the UK Supreme Court. As a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the format of the swearing-in ceremony was modified to ensure that latest Government guidance on social distancing was observed. The ceremony was held in Courtroom 1, in the presence of the President of the Supreme Court, the Justices, a few of Lady Rose’s family members and a few guests. Lady Rose’s husband kindly helped Lady Rose into her new gown. This job would normally be done by the Chief Executive, but she was unable to do on this occasion due to social distancing guidelines.
