Hosted at Ten87 Studios in North London, the Rhodes open studio event with MJQ brought together musicians, producers and the wider Rhodes community to explore the Rhodes MK8 and Stage 61 through demonstrations, discussions and live performances. The evening opened with an in-depth presentation from Rhodes Product Specialist Jamie Bullock, exploring the heritage of the Rhodes before diving into the MK8's modern feature set. From the MK8 Preamp and onboard Effects to MIDI implementation and the creative potential of Alternative Mode, the session offered a comprehensive look at the instrument's capabilities with practical demonstrations throughout. The presentation was followed by an opening performance from Hamish Jackson (MJQ) and his band Juvenile Monk, featuring two Rhodes MK8s and showcasing the instrument's remarkable expressive range in a live ensemble setting.
