IL N'Y A PAS DE ROTATION DE HANCHE EN KARATE ⛔️ : ANALYSE DE LA MECANIQUE TECHNIQUE EN KARATE JKA

Welcome everyone. Today, we're going to dispel a common misconception in karate: no, the hips don't "rotate." At least… not in the way we imagine. What we perceive as voluntary rotation is actually the result of more precise internal work: hip flexion, alignment of the body's axes, and dynamic pelvic control. In other words, rotation is never the goal: it's a result. If you try to rotate your hips without understanding this internal mechanics, you'll produce contradictory movements, lose your alignment, and prevent your body from generating true efficiency. On the other hand, when the mechanics are correct, the outside of the hips rotates naturally because the body functions coherently. In this video, we'll analyze how the hips actually move in karate, why rotation is a side effect, and how to avoid the most common mistakes to achieve clean, powerful, and aligned movement. Of course, hip work isn't limited to this video content. There are other layers, other levels of interpretation, and numerous details that complement and enrich their function. This will be the subject of one or more specific videos, particularly focusing on how to mobilize the hips "in the air" during movement, and how to deploy them with precision and continuity. There are also different ways to approach hip movement, depending on the school, style, body type, and training goals. Therefore, none of my videos or content are intended to be dogmatic or claim to hold absolute truth. As always, take what helps you progress, refine your understanding and feel, and build your karate freely and coherently, in accordance with your martial identity and the school to which you belong. Today, we’re going to break down a common misconception in karate: no, the hips don’t “rotate.” At least… not in the way most people think. What we perceive as a voluntary rotation is actually the result of a much more precise internal mechanism: folding into the hip, aligning the body’s axes, and dynamically managing the pelvis. In other words, rotation is never the goal: it’s the outcome. If you try to make your hips rotate without understanding this internal mechanics, you’ll create contradictory movements, lose alignment, and prevent your body from producing real efficiency. But when the mechanics are correct, the outside of the hips rotates naturally, simply because the body is working in harmony. In this video, we're going to analyze how the hips really move in karate, why rotation is only a secondary effect, and how to avoid the most common errors so you can regain a clean, powerful, well-aligned movement. Of course, hip movement in karate does not stop with what we have just seen. There are other layers and details that help complete and improve how it works. This will be covered in other videos, especially how to move the hips “freely” during movement, and how to use and release them correctly. There are also different ways to understand and use hip movement, depending on the school, body type, and intention of practice. For this reason, none of my videos or content are meant to be dogmatic or to represent an absolute truth. As always, take what helps you move forward, improve your feeling and understanding, and build your karate freely, in line with your martial identity and your karate school. As always, this video isn’t an absolute truth: it’s just one topic among thousands of others related to technical challenges. Take whatever seems useful to you. Train well, and see you soon.
