Avoiding Arrest, Police Clash with Debt Collector Gang, Apparently Backed by AKBP TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM — A retired mid-ranking police officer with the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (AKBP), identified as OS (59), was arrested by the Lampung Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Directorate after he recklessly switched professions to become part of a fake debt collector gang that was causing public unrest. Ironically, the former officer is now a suspect along with five other members of the gang. They were found guilty of thuggery, including the forcible seizure of a car and threats of violence against a resident in Bandar Lampung. The Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Lampung Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Indra Hermawan, emphasized that the six suspects were named after investigators conducted intensive questioning of eight individuals who were apprehended in the field. The dramatic arrest of the former officer and his accomplice immediately became public knowledge.
