L'Amiata di Seggiano

Seggiano is a small, historic village in the province of Grosseto, Tuscany, located on the northern slope of Mount Amiata, an ancient volcano now completely covered in dense chestnut forests and, higher up, beech trees. Thanks to the favorable microclimate and the fertility brought by the volcano's eruptions, the environment surrounding the town is wonderfully pristine. Having avoided monoculture and the use of chemicals, a highly biodiverse ecosystem has been preserved, where prized varieties such as the Seggianese olivastra are grown, producing a highly prized oil. Such an extraordinary place also has a profound influence on the inhabitants of Seggiano, who have a deep desire to preserve the harmony of the town, the purity of the air, and the verdant beauty of the landscape.
