La Valle di Riccò

Riccò del Golfo is located in the southernmost part of the Vara Valley, bordering the municipality of La Spezia. Although recently established, its hamlets, with much older origins, are better known and enjoyed great importance until the late 19th century. Once a land of farmers, millers, and sandstone stonecutters, today these rolling hills are home to people who, likely inspired by the peace and environmental purity of these places, have decided to embark on a life path that shuns the concept of profit above all else. They demonstrate how the path of degrowth can be achieved without excessive hardship, even in these modern times when everything seems sacrificed in the name of progress and economic growth.
