Galactic Patrol Lensman - Episode 23 [16mm Film Scan, Subbed]

This is a 16mm film scan of episode 23 of the 1984 TV anime series "Galactic Patrol Lensman", based on the Lensman novels written by E. E. "Doc" Smith. While the main themes of the books were kept in this anime adaptation, the end result was very different, and the original publishers were so displeased that they have barred any further adaptations of the books, and jointly, the anime from ever seeing the light again in an official release. Luckily, fans have been able to preserve the show in whichever manner they could. Fansub groups /m/subs and The Skaro Hunting Society, who have subtitled this episode for your enjoyment using this new 16mm scan, have been at it for a while now collecting episodes from different video sources and recordings, and going through them slowly subtitling each one. According to them, "When we started this project, we had a complete set of Lensman episodes, but in variable degrees of quality. As we’ve slowly moved through the series we’ve had great luck in upgrading the episodes with LaserDisc rips from Alrow, Betamax rips from Dougo13, and VHS rips from Laurine. Episode 23 was one of the problem episodes, spliced together from two different sources, in fact it had a spot of about 43 seconds where there was no video at all. That has changed now, with episode 23 now the highest quality of any of our Lensman releases." The print was acquired and scanned by us in 4K. It was then subbed by our friends over at /m/subs and The Skaro Hunting Society with coordination between us and the other groups being carried out by MartyMcflies of LonelyChaser Fansubs. The print received no color correction or restoration, so what you see is the film's natural state after cropping and encoding for YouTube.
