Kronologi Tabrakan Bus ALS dan Truk Tangki di Muratara, Tewaskan 16 Orang | KOMPAS PETANG

MURATARA, KOMPAS.TV - A collision between an ALS bus and a tanker truck on the Trans-Sumatra Highway in North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra, killed 16 people. The incident occurred on Wednesday (May 6, 2026) afternoon, as the ALS bus was passing and a tanker truck was approaching from the opposite direction. Initially, the ALS bus, traveling from Lubuklinggau, attempted to avoid a pothole near the scene. The bus, avoiding the pothole, swerved and entered the oncoming lane where the tanker truck was passing. This ultimately led to an unavoidable collision between the ALS bus and the tanker truck. From the crime scene investigation, police found several potholes measuring 2 cm deep. However, police found no signs of braking by the bus or the tanker truck at the location. Police also confiscated several samples from the crime scene, including a bottle of liquid from the tanker truck and charcoal ash from the ALS bus, for forensic laboratory examination. The bodies of 16 victims of the fatal accident between an ALS bus and a tanker truck in North Musi Rawas Regency were taken to the Bhayangkara Mohasan Hospital of the South Sumatra Regional Police on Wednesday evening (May 6, 2026) for identification. In this accident, a man from Lampung lost his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. The victim's father said his son-in-law and grandson were supposed to leave on Sunday (May 3, 2026), but missed the bus for three days.
