The 4th Corps of the Republic of Vietnam Army was one of the four main corps of the Republic of Vietnam regime before 1975. This base, also known as Le Loi Camp, faces Hoa Binh Avenue in the center of Can Tho city, near Ninh Kieu wharf. In April 1975, the commander of the 4th Corps was Major General Nguyen Khoa Nam. After President Duong Van Minh of the Republic of Vietnam declared surrender to the Liberation Army, General Nam committed suicide at his residence not far from the Corps headquarters.
