And there she will answer Me as on the day she came out of the land of Egypt. And it will come to pass on that day—says the Lord—that she will call Me, 'My husband,' and no longer call Me, 'My Baal.' And I will betroth you to myself forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and mercy. I will betroth you to myself in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord." Gospel (Mt 9:18-26) While Jesus was speaking to his disciples, a ruler of the synagogue came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, my daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live." Jesus rose and followed him with his disciples. And a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak. For she said to herself, 'If only I could touch his cloak, I would be healed.'" Jesus turned around and, seeing her, said, "Take courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you." And from that moment on, the woman was healed. When Jesus entered the ruler's house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a noise, he said, "Stand back, for the girl is not dead; she is sleeping." But they mocked him. But when the crowd had passed, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl rose.
