TENERIFE. EILAND IN DE ZON 1974 Tenerife in 1974 vormde een aantrekkelijke bestemming voor vakantiegangers. Hoewel dit een privé-film betreft, heb ik deze, gezien de meer dan vijftigjarige leeftijd ervan, op YouTube gepubliceerd om de tijdsgeest te illustreren. Desalniettemin zijn er talrijke overeenkomsten met de huidige tijd. De film is opgenomen met een Super-8 filmcamera. De videocamera’s, die destijds op de markt verschenen, waren voor de consument nog niet toegankelijk, maar eerder bestemd voor gebruik in televisiestudio’s. In die tijd beschikten men nog niet over Super-8 camera’s met een autofocus, waardoor handmatige scherpstelling noodzakelijk was. Deze film is opgenomen met Kodak film. De staat van het materiaal is nog steeds uitstekend. Dit is voornamelijk te danken aan de wijze waarop het is bewaard, namelijk in een donkere en koele omgeving (niet in een koelkast). TENERIFE. At that time, Super 8 cameras with autofocus were not yet available, so manual focusing was necessary. This film was shot on Kodak film. The condition of the material is still excellent. This is mainly due to the way it was stored, namely in a dark and cool environment (not in a refrigerator).
