Reliance Jio to Launch 1,600 LEO Satellites as India Creates Own Space Internet Ecosystem | N18G

India's Reliance Industries Limited has announced that its Reliance Jio internet service will launch 1,600 Low-Earth-Orbit satellites that will give India internet coverage from space. Reliance Jio has already submitted its application to the government of India and is now awaiting approvals. These satellites will provide internet coverage to each part of India, including rugged terrains in Ladakh, North-East India and even the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Till now, only the US and China had their own satellite internet services, but with Reliance Jio entering the game, India will join the elite club of nations that will have its own satellite internet ecosystem.
