India-Russia Working to Develop Hypersonic, Smaller Variants of BrahMos | Vantage on Firstpost

This week marks the silver jubilee of the Brahmos supersonic cruise missile and to mark the milestone, the India-Russia joint consortium has announced future projects. Denis Alipov, Russia's Ambassador to India confirmed that a smaller, lighter BrahMos called the BrahMos Next Generation (NG) is being developed. Simultaneously, a hypersonic version called the BrahMos II is also being developed. Meanwhile, Indian and Russian scientists are working to develop an 800-kilometre range BrahMos Extended Range (ER) version. Meanwhile, the Philippines has already purchased the weapon while Indonesia, Vietnam, UAE and Russia are looking to buy the missile.
