I was about to PAINT these... until I realized what they actually were!

It's ALWAYS subjective, whether to restore, refinish, or completely revamp. I bought these from an online auction sight unseen because I thought they were the typical veneered pieces from that era, but they turned out to be solid cherry. So my initial "redo the top, paint the base" idea was out the window. No way could I bring myself to paint these! Instead, I opted for removing the old uniform brown finish that was scuffed and scratched, and revealing the beauty of the natural cherry, and updating the hardware.
