January 10, 2026, Mt. Gozaisho 3 Couloir To Mt. Gozaisho 3 Couloir. A record of climbing a winter alpine route. Kacchan guided us into Couloir 3. This was my first time climbing this route. It's often mentioned as an introductory route for winter alpine climbing, but when you actually climb it, the atmosphere is truly alpine. It was an interesting route with just the right amount of tension. This video is the first part. We climbed the couloir, and there were some ice sections towards the end. Kacchan led the first pitch. In the second part, we broke through the untracked slope above, breaking through snow.
