80 ans et toujours aussi vif ! De retour chez Yves Gillen
I'm back at the Marais Gardens after a full year spent alongside Yves Gillen, the passionate gardener you've gotten to know throughout 2024. It's time to take stock: I'm taking you with me to discover how the garden has evolved since our first visit. Some areas have progressed well, others less so... And as always, nature has its share of surprises in store for us, both good and bad. This season, the flooding in the marsh was particularly harsh. The water submerged part of the garden, making work slower, more complicated, and sometimes even discouraging. The coypus, however, didn't help matters by digging up and destroying certain features. Despite everything, I remain impressed by the resilience of the site and Yves's philosophy, which continues to move forward with calm and lucidity. Note: following this winter's storms, Yves lost his landline. So he had to resolve to embrace modern technology—he can now be reached on his new mobile number, +33 6 82 06 65 80, every day between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The garden will reopen starting Easter weekend, every day from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at 1 Chemin du Mintre, Les Jardins du Marais, 44410 Herbignac. See you tomorrow for the rest of the tour. Garden well! 🍃
