The Managua City Hall announced that section 4 of the Héroes de la Insurrección highway will be inaugurated next December, with the entire highway currently 84 percent complete, while the completion of work on the eastern section is currently 94 percent complete. This 10-kilometer section, the most complex of the four that make up the highway, will have eight lanes, and its main channel is practically complete, with 94 percent coverage, allowing for one-way traffic. With the inauguration of section four, construction will subsequently begin on the middle section of the project, considered the busiest and most challenging part of the project. With the construction of the five new roads located at the El Periodista Overpass, the ENEL Central Overpass, the Rubén Darío Overpass, and the Santo Domingo Overpass, the capital will become a metropolis of urban development. It is worth noting that, on September 15, the first section of the Héroes de la Insurrección highway, between the Nejapa Overpass and the Colonia del Periodista neighborhood, was handed over to Nicaraguan families as part of the Fiestas Patrias celebrations.
