I needed perfect tapered cuts, so I built this simple woodworking jig

A simple table saw tapering jig for your shop can be the difference between an idea you have for a project and a finished build. Tapered cuts can add a whole new level of design to your DIY woodworking projects, but cutting tapers safely and consistently on a table saw can be challenging. And sure, there are lots of (expensive) tapering jigs on the market, but where's the fun in buying one? My grandpa always believed that if you could make or fix something yourself, you should. As he liked to say, “any a**hole can buy a new one”, but around here, we like to say “any axe-hole can buy a new one.” So let’s take that spirit into the shop and build a simple but effective DIY tapering jig that helps unlock even more projects! Materials: ¾" plywood: 30" × 11" & 30" × 3" 2 T-bolts + 2 wing nuts 2 hold-down clamps I later also added two flat washers Check out the Instructable article for this build: https://www.instructables.com/Unlock-... _________________________________________________________________________ Watch more videos like this! It’s about inheriting his carpentry knowledge by building with his very tools, all while adding my own unique mark. This channel is built on authenticity, highlighting the real mistakes and frustrations of the learning process instead of hiding them. From home renovations to fine woodworking, join the genuine (often chaotic) journey of a beginner learning the trade! ________________________________________________________________________ Music Credits: Creative Commons License Attribution (CC BY): Music by ketsa.uk #woodworking #taperingjig #woodworkingprojects #diywoodworking #shopmadejig #woodworkingjigs
