These are done with materials that are easy to find and more importantly, easy to make so you can go out fishing in no time. Why even fish with flies on your spin or overhead outfits in the first place? Well, flies are very productive - especially when fish are spooked or homed in on small baitfish. The materials on flies are more lifelike than soft plastics and they have their own movement independent from angler input. Which means the fly itself has some movement from current or wind that affects it and even when stationary, gets struck. The devices shown in the video will work in any sort of water - fresh, salt, brackish, lakes, rivers, surf - practically anywhere. You just have to scale it up or down to suit either the gear you are using or the water you're fishing and the fish you are going after.
