Kandy # Sri Lanka #travel #viral to Ella train journey one of most scenic and beautiful train journey in South Asia climbing through lush green tea estates / waterfalls / tunnels which create super adventurous feeling. There is a high demand for the Kandy Ella train from both local and international travelers, but there were only a few daily trains operated, and the Ella Odyssey train will be a great addition to the Sri Lanka tourism. For the second part of our journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, we took the slow train and travelled 3rd class unreserved seats. We have to say although it was crowded and we had no air conditioning, we enjoyed this journey much more than the first part of the journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya in first class. We met wonderful people both tourists and locals, we shared snacks and seats and had so much fun. Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, shelter monkeys, and blue magpies. Nearby Seetha Amman Temple, a colourful Hindu shrine, is decorated with religious figures. Densely forested Galway's Land National Park is a sanctuary for endemic and migratory bird species, including bulbuls and flycatchers. Ella (Sinhala: ඇල්ල, lit. 'fall'; Tamil: எல்ல) is a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province, Sri Lanka governed by an Urban Council. It is approximately 200 kilometres (120 mi) east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 metres (3,415 ft) above sea level. The area has a rich bio-diversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna. Ella is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forests and tea plantations. The town has a cooler climate than surrounding lowlands, due to its elevation. The Ella Gap allows views across the southern plains of Sri Lanka. Thank you for watching.
