Mount Barney - Montserrat Lookout in 10 minutes!

#brisbane #hiking #mountbarney When the east coast rains finally eased up, I headed our to snatch a quick overnight hike. At the western boundary of Mount Barney National Park, this route sees less traffic than the more famous nearby trails. The trail is access via the Cleared Ridge carpark, at the end of a pretty rough 4wd track. Unsurprisingly, the creeks were swollen and the bush was (very) overgrown, so that half the time was spent bush-bashing up the ridgeline to Montserrat lookout itself. The campsite is just a few metres below the summit, which makes it easy to get up for the sunrise. If you like this not-quite informative and not very serious video, please subscribe!
