The Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer Jamming Protection test on Airbus A320

In this video we will take look on The Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer (THS) actuator. It moves the control surface of the THS. The THS actuator is an electro-hydraulic unit that changes the mechanical or the electrical pitch-trim commands into mechanical movements. The THS actuator has two hydraulic motors and a pitch-trim actuator. The pitch trim actuator controls the hydraulic actuation. Two hydraulic systems, Yellow and Green which supply power to the hydraulic motors. These systems have their independent fluid supplies. JAMMING MODE If one control valve or its driving mechanism is jammed the hydraulic supply of both hydraulic motors is cut by the Shut-Off Valve (SOV) control device in each valve block, the comparator piston operates both SOVs.
