Mera Peak: Winter Ascent Through Storm And Survival @AltiPro_Adventures

Our winter ascent of Mera Peak was one of the toughest journeys I’ve taken on, with high winds, harsh weather, brutal cold temperatures, and unpredictable conditions challenging us from start to finish. Despite these hardships, the climb became incredibly meaningful because I was joined by Ishan, a young climber I met through YouTube. His positive attitude, determination, and matching energy made the entire expedition stronger and more enjoyable, even in the harshest moments. Mera Peak (6,476m) is famous for its panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and many other Himalayan giants. Although known as a trekking peak, it still demands strong preparation because of its altitude, long glacier approach, and rapidly changing weather—especially in winter. For anyone interested in climbing Mera Peak, the best and safest seasons are Autumn (September–November) and Spring (March–May) when the weather is more stable and visibility is clearer.
