Gothic Remake: Old Camp

It’s finally time to impress those snobs from the Old Camp and earn their approval for joining them. Even if I’m not actually planning to join in the end, there might be some rewards or other benefits for doing all their tasks. The first person I visited was Fingers, and naturally he wanted me to steal something. I had only tried lockpicking once in Remake before, and it turned out to be a lot harder than I expected. Sure, there’s a way to invest skill points into lockpicking, but honestly I’m too greedy with my learning points for that. So I decided to move on and maybe come back later. I was told that I could fight in the arena and impress Scatty, so that’s exactly what I did. Though "fight" might not be the right word. Instead of using a sword, I once again solved the problem by running around the arena like a madman while throwing Fireballs at my opponents. It worked surprisingly well. Well... except for the Templar. He refuses to fight me until I become "worthy" or "strong enough," whatever that is supposed to mean. Fine then. Let’s go do Diego’s task instead, which apparently means another trip to the Old Mine and, naturally, digging up even more ore. While I was there, I actually managed to pick a lock in the mine. Inspired by this unexpected success, I went back and completed Fingers’ task as well, successfully picking Scatty’s chest. At this point almost everyone seems to like me. And honestly, I’m not even sure whether I’ll bother with Dexter’s task anymore. By now I already have enough support to be accepted into the Old Camp anyway.
