"Join us at Living Scapular for today’s devotion to Our Mother of Sorrows. On this Thursday, July 9, 2026, we meditate on the Fourth Sorrow: The Meeting of Mary and Jesus on the Way to Calvary. In this meditation, we gaze upon the wounds of our Savior and the profound sorrow of His Mother as their eyes meet on the road to execution. We reflect on the strength of a Mother’s love and the weight of the Cross borne for our salvation. Through this Chaplet, we ask for the grace of patience in our own trials and the fortitude to follow Christ even to the heights of Calvary. The Fourth Sorrow: The Meeting of Mary and Jesus on the Way to Calvary (Luke 23:27) What we pray for today: For the grace to carry our own daily crosses with patience. For those suffering from heavy burdens, exhaustion, or abandonment. For the Gift of Fortitude in times of spiritual and physical trial. About the Fourth Sorrow: The greater Her love for Him, the greater Her grief at the sight of His sufferings. The Mother and the Son looked at each other, and Their looks became as so many arrows to pierce those hearts which loved each other so tenderly. Mary would not leave Him; She also took up Her cross and followed Him.
