In this video, I thoroughly test the Pirelli Scorpion Race DH tires mounted on my e-bike after a month and a half of real-world use in demanding conditions. This isn't a quick review or a first impression: it's an honest test after riding them on loose terrain, soft ground, aggressive rocks, roots, and long descents with heavy loads on the tires. The Scorpion Race DH tires have a very clear focus: aggressive downhill riding and taking advantage of gravity. Pirelli structures this range into three models (DH M, DH T, and DH S) to cover the front, rear, and softer terrain, and in this case, I tested the DH M front and DH T rear combination, both with a 2x60 TPI dual-ply casing and the brand's softest compound, SmartEVO DH. In the video, I analyze in detail their construction, actual weight, ETRTO width, braking feel, traction, lateral behavior, and pedaling grip, as well as directly comparing them to equivalent models from Maxxis and Continental, which many of us are already familiar with. I also speak frankly about the weight of the rear tire, its expected durability in summer, and why this DH version makes sense for downhill, racing, or very aggressive use, but perhaps not so much as a "daily" option on lightweight e-bikes. After this time, I can say that these are very reliable tires, extremely robust, and with a very high level of grip, especially on loose or soft terrain. They aren't tires for everyone, but they are for those who seek absolute confidence on descents and don't want to compromise on casing or traction. If you're considering downhill tires for hard enduro, bike park riding, or competition, here's an opinion based on real-world use, unfiltered, and with clear conclusions.
